Mission Statement

The mission of CBE Sisterhood is to unite the diverse woman of our congregation through social, educational, cultural, social action, and Jewish ritual programming in order to strengthen our role as women, promote Conservative (Masorti) Judaism, and foster a strong bond with Jews locally, in Israel, and around the world.

Our main goal is to support our membership, the synagogue as a whole, the Women's League for Conservative Judaism, and causes that are relevant to us as women.

Summer Camp Cash Program

Sisterhood offers "Camp Cash" grants to assist with Jewish camping experience or trip costs for children of Sisterhood members. The annual application date is July 31. Check out the Cash Cash page for grant program details and application

Torah Fund

Torah Fund is a campaign by the Women's League for Conservative Judaism to ensure our legacy to future generations of Conservative Jews by providing funds for the education of rabbis, cantors, educators, and administrators for Day Schools and synagogue schools; synagogue administrators, social workers, scholars, and professional and lay leaders and researchers.

The Torah Fund theme for 2020–2022 is B’Yachad, which means ‘Together’. Torah Fund appreciates donations of any amount. If you donate $180 or more, you will receive a pin signifying your support. Wearing this pin signifies the joy of sisterhood members working together year-round to make important contributions to the Jewish community through volunteer efforts at synagogues across the United States and Canada.

To contribute online (strongly preferred), please go to inspired.jtsa.edu/torahfund. You will receive a receipt via email for your records. To contribute by check, please download our Torah Fund Form.
