Religious School

Congregation Beth Emeth Religious School provides vibrant and engaging Jewish learning for students in grades K-10th.  All classes will be in-person in the fall of 2021.  We will continue to follow CDC, The VA Department of Health, and the CBE COVID Task Force guidelines. For this reason, there may be changes in Religious School policy as the COVID situation continues to change, with the growth or reduction of restrictions.

Creating the Best in Jewish Education

The Jewish sages teach that "the world stands on three things: Torah, Avodah, and G'milut Hasadim" (Avot 1:2). These pursuits--study, worship, and deeds of loving kindness--provide the framework within which Jews build their relationship with G-d, with one another and with the world. Our school's program of study is based upon these three core Jewish values. Our core curriculum is designed to coincide with the developmental stages of children at each appropriate grade.

Congregation Beth Emeth’s Religious School keeps Jewish learning relevant to our student’s lives. The CBE curriculum provides students with not only the traditional Jewish education, but also the tools to live their lives as Conservative Jews in today’s world.  Our goal at CBE is to plant the seeds of life-long learning through meaningful Jewish exploration, hands-on-learning, and family education.

Worship Services for Children

In addition to our classroom experiences, students and their families are encouraged to participate in worship services. There is always the opportunity to join in the celebration of Shabbat Friday evenings and Saturday mornings in the sanctuary. Returning in the fall, we also host a monthly Tot Shabbat. We also host age-level services during the High Holiday services providing children an interactive worship experience with their peers, with several age groups and including a special Teen Service for grades 7-12.
