Fall BBQ 2025 - RSVP

Join us for CBE's annual fall BBQ featuring the 2nd Annual Shofar Showdown and "Shred the Clutter"! Get ready for the new year with the best of the best in shofar blowing and a chance to get those old files out of your house and in to a shredding truck.

Sign up for the BBQ, Shofar Showdown, and "Shred the Clutter" below!

BBQ: Serving the best kosher hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers in Herndon! The event is free to all, but volunteers and donations make it all possible. Many thanks to the CBE Men's Club for keeping the grills going.

Shofar Showdown: Bring your own shofar, purchase one from the Sisterhood gift shop, or just sit back and wait to see who has the longest Tekiah Gedolah. Entry is free, but stay tuned for opportunities to bet on your favorite shofar blower!

Shred the Clutter: Have files you've been meaning to get rid of, but there's just too many to put through the shredder at home? Thanks to an anonymous sponsor, CBE will have a shred truck coming on Monday, September 8. Bring your files to the BBQ and CBE will store them overnight for shredding the next day. $18 for the one box, $36 for up to 5 boxes, and $9 for each additional box beyond 5.

Beth Emeth members and BEECC Preschool families It is preferred to log in to your CBE "ShulCloud" account before completing this form.

How Many in your Party?

Help make this BBQ happen!

Suggested donation is $18/adult or $36/family and/or volunteer an hour or more of your time.  Each donation and volunteer makes it possible for us to continue holding this favorite event for members and guests of all ages!

Sign up for the Shofar Showdown below. You may pick one or more category. For each category, please list the name(s) of the individual(s) from your household participating.

  • Round 1: Best Choreographed Group Shofar Performance, a category for teams or groups performing together.
  • Round 2: Most Realistic-sounding Mating Call for an Ostrich, or best animal imitation with Shofar
  • Round 3: Longest Toot (T’kiya G’dola), “longest” by time; not distance. A shofar can’t run. That’s ridiculous.
  • Round 4: Play that Tunesongs selected by the Shofar Showdown Beit Din.
  • Round 5: Longest Toot by Distance, how far can you run while blowing a shofar without taking a breath? Turns out a shofar can run!

Sign up below for the number of boxes you wish to shred.

Example: If you plan to shred 8 boxes, enter 3 here. Your first 5 are included above.

Have 10 boxes or more? Contact office@bethemeth.org for pricing.
