Virtual Chocolate Tasting
with Chocolatier Mariano D’Aguiar of River-Sea Chocolates!

CBE presents Mariano D’Aguiar, for an evening of scrumptious world class chocolate tasting.
The Chocolate Tasting Evening includes a virtual presentation with stories, photos and video clips of the cocoa farms from five different South and Central American countries and the River-Sea chocolate factory. And of course, the presentation includes REAL (not virtual) chocolate tasting.
If you ordered a tasting kid, chocolate packages will be delivered to Beth Emeth and you will be notified how to pick up your kit prior to Dec 12. (Home deliveries will be made for any congregant who is unable to drive or leave their home due to the pandemic). Sorry, the deadline to order for shipping has passed.
River-Sea Chocolates is a small, ethically and environmentally sourced bean-to-bar chocolate maker in Chantilly, VA. The company hosts guided chocolate tastings at our chocolate factory, and the feedback on these events has always been wonderful. Since the pandemic hit, they have started offering Virtual Chocolate Tastings using ZOOM, which maintains the interactive and intimate experience that people love about their in-person tours.
Mariano D’Aguiar, founder of River-Sea Chocolates, grew up in the cacao growing
region of Brazil. He has lived in the DC area for 13 years, working as an accountant by trade until switching gears to launch River-Sea. Among many other roles at River-Sea, Mariano is the Master Cacao Roaster. Through direct hands-on experience he is knowledgeable about every aspect of cacao farming, import/trade, and chocolate production. Mariano serves as an advisor to the US State Department’s Sustainable Cacao Supply Chain task force.
