Outing to Capital Jewish Museum
Sunday, November 19, 2023 • 6 Kislev 5784
12:00 PM - 4:00 PMLeave from CBE, or meet at museumJoin CBE friends for an afternoon at the Capital Jewish Museum, 575 3rd Street, NW in Washington, DC. Admission to the museum is free, but there is a cost if you want to see the exhibit on Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, which is only going to be at the museum through November 30th. Go online ASAP and get your own tickets for BOTH free, timed-entry to the museum AND the RBG exhibit at capitaljewishmuseum.org, $12 adults, $10 seniors and students.
Since Minyan and Munch will be over between 11:30 and 12, and it will take at least an hour to get downtown, we recommend you get tickets for museum entry and RBG for 1:30 or after. After Minyan and Munch, those who want to organize carpools can do so, and those who want to take Metro can head to the Wiehle Metro station and ride the Metro together. The museum website lists a paid parking garage available at 3rd & G Streets, NW.
Sadly, no guide is available for us that day, as the RBG exhibit has been very popular (buy your tickets ASAP!), but we hear we will still enjoy and get a lot out of the self-guided tour. According to museum staff, there is a pizza place and a Japanese restaurant close by, and Chinatown is a ten-minute walk, for those who want to have a snack or meal after the museum visit. If you don’t attend Minyan and Munch, please meet us in the lobby at CBE at noon.
Please contact Debbie Smith to let us know to expect you, and with any questions.
