Rabbi Search

This past November, Rabbi Mina informed our congregation that she and her family made the difficult decision not to renew her contract with us when it expires at the end of June. After almost 8 years at Congregation Beth Emeth (CBE), she and her husband Jeff have decided that they would like to move closer to their extended family and the warmer climate of Florida.

The Goldsmith family have been a significant addition to our CBE community. We celebrated with them when Jonah and Shiah were called to the Torah as B’nai Mitzvah. We shared in their pride as Aviella & Rafaella graduated college. We were thrilled for Rabbi and Jeff when Rafaella became a bride a couple of years ago. It has truly been a pleasure to watch Rafaella, Aviella, Jonah and Shiah grow into the fine young adults that they are today.

Rabbi Mina has introduced and executed many well-received programs in her tenure with Beth Emeth. She stood proudly at the helm as our congregation planned religious services, dealt with security procedures and provided congregant and community outreach during this difficult time of COVID. Rabbi Mina has been an integral part of our Adult Education Programming, teaching many of the classes herself. She created and leads Project Mishpachah in our religious school as well as the joyful Shabbat Sing in our preschool program. Rabbi Mina also teaches our 10th grade Confirmation classes and many Religious School classes.

We will miss Rabbi Mina. We will most certainly miss her obvious joy for everything Jewish. The entire congregation extends its best wishes to the Goldsmith family as they enter the next phase on their life journey.

Go toward peace!
Best Wishes for continued happiness.

The Rabbi Search at Congregation Beth Emeth will have two phases:

Selecting an Interim Rabbi for the 2021-2022 Year

This process is already under way, under the leadership of Board Member at Large Robyn Feuerberg. Please see the Interim Rabbi webpage for more information and regular updates.

Hiring a Permanent Rabbi to Start in July 2022

We will begin to add information about the process for the Permanent Rabbi search here and on the Permanent Rabbi Search page in early Spring. Watch your announcements, the Shofar and special emails to the congregation about surveys, town halls & focus groups, Zoom visits by candidates, synagogue visits by finalists, and more. We will also post updates on the Rabbi Search Updates page.

Keeping Track of New Developments

We will update this website on a regular basis. All new information and developments will be posted on the Rabbi Search Updates page. Check back regularly. We will also publish regular updates in the Shofar, and we'll publicize opportunities to have your voice heard and to participate as we move forward.
