"Travel" to Israel

A Unique Opportunity to “Travel to Israel”

Five consecutive days:

  • Touring Monday, Feb 8 – Thursday, Feb 11, 1:00-3:00 PM
  • Wrapup/Pre-Shabbat Experience, Friday, Feb 12, 1:00-2:00 PM

Please join us for a 5-day Israel experience in which we will travel together on the Zoom Bus! Reserve your seat today! Space is limited to 20 screens/registrants, to keep the group small, much like a real bus tour, and to foster meaningful and comfortable discussions. Congregation Beth Emeth is proud to partner with Jewish National Fund (JNF) to provide this unique opportunity to visit Israel during the pandemic.

Cost per screen: $25

What's it About?

We will uncover some of the hidden secrets of Israel and hear exciting stories about the Jewish homeland. Our journey will highlight the Jewish People's connection to Israel starting from ancient days, and the birth of the modern Jewish State.

Where Will We Go?

From the comfort of your favorite armchairs or couch, our virtual trip to Israel will include places like the Underground Tunnels of the Western Wall (Kotel), the Temple Mount, and Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem’s colorful outdoor market.

Some other exciting sites that we plan to visit include the Underground Bullet Factory (Machon Ayalon) and the Atlit Detention Camp, the Israel Museum's Dead Sea Scrolls and Sarona (Tel Aviv's hot spot for fun and leisure).

We’ll conclude the touring part of our program on Thursday by virtually planting a tree, and leave Israel a tiny bit greener than we found her.

How Will We Get There?

We will meet virtually at the charter counter at Dulles Zoomport at 1:00 PM EST, Monday, February 8, for our flight, but please come a few minutes early because we want to depart on time.

Please use the link to register so you can reserve your seat and get your boarding pass. Previous virtual tours have sold out quickly and we have a limit of 20 seats.

Who Will Guide Our Tour?

  • Our tour guide, Mordechai Cohen, is a dynamic, highly experienced Israel tour guide as well as a Jewish educator of both children and adults in North America and Israel. Mordechai will share engaging stories connected to each of the sites visited by the Zoom bus. Click on these links for:
  • Rabbi Mina will be travelling with us on the Zoom bus and sharing her wisdom and expertise, and along with Rafi will guide our discussion during the second hour of each day’s tour.
  • We will also have Rafi Glazer as our JNF Professional on the tour. Rafi is the Israel Programs Admissions Director (IPAD) for JNF in the Mid-Atlantic. Prior to coming to JNF in March 2018, Rafi was the Director of Programs for the American Jewish Society for Service, an organization dedicated to creating service-learning opportunities for Jewish high school students. Rafi lives in Rockville, MD and enjoys reading, re-watching the West Wing, and traveling the US with the goal of getting to all 50 states (only 9 states left).
