Worship at Beth Emeth
Joyous, spiritual, educational, and most of
all participatory! Services are lay-led, and we encourage congregants of all
ages to broaden their spiritual horizons by learning and/or improving their
skills as service leaders, torah readers and active participants.
Our
services are traditional and egalitarian, but with our own flavor. Rabbi
Steve's short "Tefilla Moments" and Drashot are interesting and
thought-provoking. Our award-winning Caleb's Challenge program allows our
5th-7th graders to reflect upon complex torah-related questions. One unique
way we make chanting Torah more accessible is to have photos of torah
readings -- in our actual torahs -- available online
for practice.
Birthday/Anniversary Aliyot: Second Shabbat of Every
Month
We have a monthly
tradition at Shabbat morning services – a group aliyah for everyone
celebrating a birthday or anniversary during the month. Please plan to
attend services to be called to the Torah for an aliyah! Not sure about
having an aliyah? Don’t worry, just follow along with the other celebrants.

Children's resources during
services:
-
For
your convenience, during Friday evening and Saturday services a
play area for young children accompanied by
a parent has been set up in classroom 5.
-
Kids! Don't forget to look for the collection of
fun books to read through during services. They are colorful and
even if you can't read, the pictures are great for looking through. They are
located on the shelf under the Chumashim between the two tallit closets and
await your attention. Let us know what you think of them. They were donated
by the 2005-2006 Kindergarten and 2nd grade classes.
