The Beth
Emeth Sisterhood, one of 800 affiliates that comprise the
Women's League for Conservative Judaism
worldwide and a member of its
Seaboard Branch,
strives to perpetuate conservative Judaism through education for ourselves,
our families and our community. To accomplish this, we present Jewish skills
and holiday workshops for congregants, offer a grant program to youth
participating in a Jewish camping or Israel experience and assist our
religious school through the donation of needed materials to enhance the
outstanding program here at Beth Emeth. Our Sisterhood also proudly supports
the
Jewish Theological Seminary
in its mission to train professional and lay leaders for the Conservative
movement.
In an effort to fulfill the vision
of tikkun olam (repairing the world through acts of loving kindness),
Beth Emeth Sisterhood has, for several years, sold house and people pins to
benefit the Jewish Social Service Agency's program for homeless and battered
women. We have also established an annual blood drive and are always looking for
new ways to serve our community.
Sisterhood offers "Camp Cash"
grants to assist with Jewish camping experience or Israel trip costs for
children of Sisterhood members. The annual application date is July 31.
Download the grant program details and application.
Our Marilyn Rosenberg Gift Shop
continues to flourish under Sisterhood's direction. The Gift Shop is not only a
crucial source of income to our congregation, but it provides an important
opportunity for families to make their homes rich with Judaica and to become
acquainted with Jewish art, music and literature.
The current (Sept
1011) Gift Shop
Hours and Sundays 8:30-10:30 AM
(when Hebrew School is on.) Appointments can be made for other times;
contact the Robyn Feuerberg to
make arrangements.
Please join
Sisterhood, or renew your membership now! Please contact
Haley Morse or
Debbie Brandolph
for more information, or
just
open and
print the membership form, fill it in and mail or bring to CBE with
your check.

Mission Statement
The
mission of CBE Sisterhood is to unite the diverse woman of our congregation
through social, educational, cultural, social action, and Jewish ritual
programming in order to strengthen our role as Jewish women, promote
Conservative (Masorti) Judaism, and foster a strong bond with Jews locally,
in Israel, and around the world.
Our main
goal is to support our membership, the synagogue as a whole, the Women’s
League for Conservative Judaism, and causes that are relevant to us as
women.
