Men's Club Minute

Upcoming Men's Club Events on Interactive Calendar
The Beth Emeth Men's Club is an organization of volunteers
committed to a strong and united Conservative movement, dedicated to observing the
commandments of service and study, and brought together in camaraderie and friendship.
We invite all members of Beth Emeth to take advantage of the Men's Club programs.
We’re looking forward to the many activities and events for which the
Men ’s Club is famous: assisting the Ritual Committee with High Holy Day
ushering (jointly with Sisterhood) and Sukkot camping trip; Men's Club Shabbat
service; Bingo Nights; the Super Bowl party; and, of course, the Purim
Carnival. We’re hoping to have more frequent breakfast meetings where we
can shmooze, munch, and hear an interesting speaker or two, as well as a
few off-site events.
The Men's Club also sponsors the
Yom HaShoah Yahrzeit
Candle program each year, sending a candle to each Beth Emeth household. On
Monday, April 20, 2009, Erev Yom
HaShoah, we lit our Yellow Candles and reciting the linked meditation. If
you would like, please make a contribution now to the
CBE Men’s Club Yom HaShoah Program to support this effort. Use the online
form to select a contribution amount and you will be billed on your next
statement from the synagogue.
The Men's Club's newest initiative
is the CBE Cycling Club, with rides most Sundays during the summer. Join us!

All these activities are made possible by the efforts of the many
Men's Club members. Please watch the weekly e-mail announcements and the
bulletin distributed at Shabbat services for information on upcoming Men’s Club
events. We look forward to meeting you and exploring the possibilities that your
participation will bring to the organization.

Monday, January 18, 8:30 PM,
Official Start Date of the Mid-Season Bowling League.
Men’s Club
is helping to form bowling teams for anyone who wishes to bowl in a
winter league. Bowling will be at 9:15 PM on Monday nights at the Bowl
America on Stonecroft Blvd. Teams are made up of 3 players, and we are
joining the Mid-Season Trios league at the alley. The coordination
meeting is set for 8:30 PM on the 18th with bowling to follow
at 9:15 PM. This is a handicapped league so we’ll be setting our
handicaps on the 18th (or the first time you bowl). If you
have a team, wish to be added to a team, or want to be an alternate for
occasional bowling, please email the Men’s Club email address at
mensclub@bethemeth.org or ask any Men’s Club Board Member for
details. Cost for bowling is $15/week with prize money distribution at
the end of the season. Congratulations to the Holy Rollers (Brent Dann,
Jamie MacDonald, and Jon Kraden) – reigning league champions. |

at the home of Jon Katz. The Buy-In is $30; drinks and light food will

The CBE Men's Club
teams up with Religious School to present the
 World
Wide Wrap, the International Day to celebrate the mitzvah of Tefillin.
Both 6th grade classes will attend this fun, educational program when we
will learn more about this mysterious custom. 6th grade parents are
encouraged to attend, as are 7th graders and their parents. We will
learn how to lay Tefillin, then participate in the very special USY
morning minyan known as Sunday Shachareit Live. The morning concludes
with a lox and bagel breakfast served by Men's Club and a discussion in
which Men's Club members will share Tefillin recollections. NO COST.
Please bring all sets of Tefillin you can find. |
