As you all know, we are
without an Education Director and our committee has been charged by CBE
President Paul Levine to make recommendations to the CBE Executive Committee
regarding the duties of the head of our Religious School, the skill set of
the person we are seeking, and the organizational structure which will best
accommodate the needs of the congregation.
We have an ambitious goal
and a VERY short time line as our recommendations have been requested before
November 1, 2008. This is to allow enough time for the search committee to
find the best candidate for CBE in time for the following school year.
This process is to be
open, transparent and inclusive. We have broad representation on the
committee, but need participation and input from all. The process is
outlined below, but we will be sending an electronic survey to be completed
online by the CBE membership and teachers. PLEASE respond as soon as
possible.
Process:

We’ll be focusing on where CBE has been, where we
are, where we will be if current trends continue, as well as, where we hope
to be in the future. We need to create a realistic vision of our CBE future
to help define the role(s) and characteristics of our future Education
Director.

Survey CBE membership. Be prepared to respond
quickly to a forthcoming survey.

Communication: We will strive to keep all
appraised of our progress and the minutes will be available upon request to
Linda Eisinger. We will post updates on our progress to the web (www.bethemeth.org/eddirectorsearch),
and I encourage all to contact myself or other members of the committee with
your thoughts as we proceed with this process.

Present recommendations of the Education Director
Exploratory Committee to the CBE President, and Executive Committee by
November 1, 2008.

CBE leadership to present the recommendations to
the CBE membership.
