In this
course, we shall use the new, though-provoking volume, Jews
and Judaism in the 21st Century: Human Responsibility, the Presence
of God, and the Future of the Covenant — (in which five
respected Rabbis, David Ellenson, David Hartman, Irving “Yitz”
Greenberg, Harold Kushner and Harold Schulweis, reinterpret Jewish
life and re-imagine its future) — as a springboard to discuss/debate
our own thoughts about these issues.

Hebrew Crash Course, Starting From Scratch

Nine Classes: Tue noon - 1:00 PM

Begin or
refresh the Aleph Bet, learn to decode and build syllables into
words, begin to recognize key words in Siddur and travel phrases.
Our goal will be to recite Brachot and text for a Shabbat Evening

This informal group meets
twice monthly
in members' homes
Year-round - 2nd & 4th Thursdays, 7:30 PM (subject to change)
Join other Hebrew
speakers of all levels for an informal get-together to learn Ulpan
style or to stay in practice and avoid getting rusty. Complete
fluency in not required. No cost to participate. For more

Mashgiach Class
— Become a certified
supervisor of Kashrut in the CBE kitchen
Instructors: Rabbi Glazer, Ita Mandel
This
2-part class is suggested for anyone involved in synagogue programs
that prepare food in our kitchen. Classes are formed when several
Congregants express an interest in obtaining certification. Please

Social Hall Dance Lessons -- New! Two Class Levels!

You and
your significant other are in a Social somewhere for a Simcha, the
DJ invites everyone to dance. Will you both go for it? In just nine
classes, you both will be secure in several steps and more confident
on the floor. Well-known local dance instructor William Anderson,
four year veteran of Arthur Murray Studios, will teach ballroom
basics in the comfort of our Social Hall. Fee: see above.

Basic Judaism

Rabbinic intern, Steven Rein, will introduce Jewish fundamentals
such as life cycle events, holidays and the meaning of ritual

address specific concerns of students.

Saturday a group gathers in the Beth Emeth Library to share opinions
and insights into the Parashat HaShavuah (Torah portion of the
week). Relaxed and informal, the discussions are led by group
