Israeli art and literature that seeks to shatter the Zionist myth by
reevaluating some of the foundations of the Jewish State. We will

Torah Discussion

Shabbat of every month, noon or after Oneg Shabbat.
Following the
Kiddush on the second Shabbat of the month, we now engage in a
lively, one-hour study of the Parashat HaShavuah (Torah Portion of
the Week), facilitated by Mike Wikes. Discussion will be based on
chapters from the series entitled, “A Torah Commentary for Our
Times,” described as "a provocative approach to the weekly Sidrah,
juxtaposing the insights of ancient, medieval, and modern
commentators." Ideal for all levels of background and experience.

The second session
in our Embassy of Israel Speaker Series will be held on Sunday,
January 17, 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Our speaker will be Monika Lev-Cohen, who
served as the Embassy's Director of Academic Affairs and is currently
an Aliyah Representative for the Jewish Agency for Israel. She will
discuss the complexities of Israeli society in its religious and
cultural diversity and who are the people currently making Aliyah.

the kids are in K’tongregation, Torah for Tots and Jr. Congregation,
the adults will get together for an informal class to provide
explanations and contemporary interpretations for different parts of
